Description
The rear pulley kit sets you up with everything you might need to do a clean conversion to a better geared Yamaha Bolt. No more searching for 6th gear!
The HardDrive 65 tooth pulley is a direct replacement for the pulley on the Yamaha Bolt. This reduces your RPM’s as much as 800+ making the bike feel like it is no longer screaming at highway speeds in 5th gear. You get more range in each gear, better gas mileage, and everything is spread out with better shift points.
Please note that this pulley when purchased elsewhere does not directly fit, we enlarge the 6 mounting holes to fit on the 12mm threaded studs on the Yamaha Bolt. Typically sold in a chrome finish but also available in a matte or gloss black with some additional lead time.
The 140 tooth pulley belt is required to be able to use the 65 tooth pulley.
The SpeedoDRD is required to heal/calibrate your speedometer and track miles correctly.
The Koso TNT-B Speedometer is another option to heal/calibrate your speedometer, however note that the granularity of calibration is not as good as the SpeedoDRD and you still may have some discrepancy.

This will be my review for the Motorcycle Dress-Up Pulley kit that I installed a couple days ago. I’ve included a before & after picture. First off, the kit was very easy to install and the Motorcycle Dress-up has a very detailed but simple video on the installation. Before installing this kit, keeping up with California traffic was a pain and I felt as if I was revving super high just to hold 75-80mph. I would fly through the gears and it just simply felt like the bike didn’t belong on the highway. After installing this kit, pulling out onto the street put a HUGE smile on my face! I didn’t feel that infamous 1st gear jerk while making slow turns. It just felt smooth. While the overall acceleration speed has slightly taken a loss, the bike still seems to pull its weight almost the same, but I don’t feel like it’s trying to slow me down after climbing above 70mph. Installing this kit has made me enjoy the highway so much more. if you’re not familiar with California, basically everyone drives 80mph+. Before the kit, I didn’t want to drive over 70mph because I felt like I was beating on the engine, which was screaming just to keep up with traffic. It felt very unsafe having cars constantly passing me going 15 mph faster and maneuvering around me. Now, with the pulley kit installed, I can comfortable match their speed and I feel generally safer on the highway. I can’t wait to hit the mountain roads with this new gearing! I highly recommend getting this kit if you have a Yamaha Bolt/XVS950.

Question
VernonC –
The pulley swap involves only the rear pulley and belt? I already have the TNT-B speedo, it won’t affect the calibration of speed? Do you have a Canadian site?

Daimler Reitwagen –
The pulley swap is only for the rear and belt, correct. The tnt-b will help to heal your speed difference but it may not end up being perfect in most of our testing. To really dial in the speed perfectly we suggest using e speedodrd, however it certainly is not required if you don’t mind a 1-3 mph discrepancy when it won’t dial in perfectly. Perhaps try it without the speedodrd and see how it goes, then get the Speedodrd if you find it too far off.
We only have one website, but we sell worldwide from it, with only a couple exceptions (North Korea and UAE). We ship to and sell to Canada often.

DAVID RAMSEY –
will a shorter drive belt be required due to the decreased rear pulley size? only have 1,800 miles on my bolt currently and dont want to change the belt if not needed.

Daimler Reitwagen –
Yes it will be required. This is further detailed and explained in the product description details if you want some more info.

Just did the rear pulley swap last night thanks to Motorcycle Dress-Up! Do not sleep on this upgrade as it is second to none next to Ivan’s flash! My RPM’s dropped dramatically, mostly on the freeway, note that I also have the front pulley swap as well. No more screaming on the freeway! I was lucky to hit 3k RPM doing 80+mph!
