What gasoline octane should you use? Opinions will vary considerably on this topic. However, for most 87 is quite adequate and generally believed to be recommended by most. If you have the ECU flashed or other modifications then it is possible you may be recommended to use a higher octane. Ivan’s Flash currently recommends 89 octane.

Mileage after gas light comes on #

A lot of factors figure into this number. Weight on bike, wind resistance (side cases, windshield, etc), amount of braking, hills, rpms you ride at, and use of the throttle. All of those factors can play a big part in whether you get the most out of gas mileage in general. A general low number for the mileage after the light comes on is 18 miles, higher numbers depending on how you ride are up to 35 miles.
